Bob's Clam Hut has recently become one of our top Crave-Worthy favorite places to feast on great fried seafood in Southern Maine! Last summer, we tried Bob's for the very first time. We went because I was really craving good fried seafood and didn't want to drive the forty five minutes that it takes to get to our usual favorite seafood places.
For three important reasons, it makes sense that Bob's Clam Hut would be the subject of our very first, Crave-Worthy Maine review:
1. The authenticity!
It can be so hard to find local seafood restaurants that still serve fresh, cold water seafood nowadays; especially cold water shrimp. The struggle though... 100% real. Bob's, along with our other favorite top fried seafood restaurant, has kept it cold water-authentic, making them so worthy of their rave reviews!
2. The year-round access👍👊
This crave-worthy gem is open year-round to be enjoyed by locals and visitors alike! A rare and much appreciated commodity... thank you Bob's Clam Hut, thank you very much! (xoxo, your local seafood cravers).
3. The location, location, location
Bob's Clam Hut is located as far South as you can go before crossing the Bridge to New Hampshire, making it the perfect place for visitors to officially start their fresh, authentic Maine seafood feast! As an added bonus, Bob's is located right in the middle of the Kittery Shopping Outlets.

4. The fame😎
Bob's has been featured on Food Network's, Diners Drive-ins and Dives, with Guy Fieri's favored reviews! Guy say's "go with the Flo's" when it comes to Bob's famous fried clams.

Since discovering that we have a landmark fried clam hut within seven miles of our new home, we've looked forward to enjoying our fried seafood fix at Bob's again and again!
So far, we've indulged in these regular menu options:
1. The Combination Seafood Basket
The first time we went we ordered the combination seafood basket,(not the junior size though)... we got the regular sized basket and it was huge! We could tell that it's fresh, not frozen because the seafood was sweet, melt in your mouth good and not fishy or tough. Their crumbs are so crunchy and cooked to perfection... we say, just do it!
2. The Bob & Betty Choose Two Combo
The second time we went to Bob's we ordered the Bob and Betty Choose Two Combo and chose shrimp and scallops... Bob's offers large portion sizes, so our successful completion of a fried combo there is still in the works. The quality, taste and perfection is the same as the Combination Seafood Basket. #yum.
3. The lobster roll,(shown below).
The third time we went to Bob's we ordered a lobster roll along with our combo; Because, sometimes you just need a lobster roll. If I were eating it alone it would have been the perfect size, but I was sharing it soooo... I'll have to go back and get another one today. JK, kinda. But it was so fresh and so good. The staff was kind enough to melt some butter on the side for me to dip my lobster in, please and thanks! Bonus, they toasted the bun with butter. Now that's love.

Gluten Free Menu Options...
The items listed here are virtually gluten free. They are exposed to airborne flour and are often cooked in oil that has mostly only been used for gluten free items, (which is why they are only "virtually gluten free").

For visitors, Bob's Clam Hut is highly recommended as a fun, quirky and crave-worthy place to let the fresh Maine seafood feasting begin! It's a must try for all Vacationland visitors, and it should be a solid five star fried seafood staple for the locals who need their fix year-round... See you there!
